Simon Daniel is a member of TYDE’s Training and Events Committee and supports efforts to increase the University’s capacity for conducting high-impact research in the area..
Daniel is a Ph.D. Student in the Clinical and School Psychology program at the University of Virginia’s School of Education and Human Development under the mentorship of Dr. Michael Lyons, Ph.D.
His research interests broadly center around implementation science, prevention science, school-based mental health interventions, and using research outcomes to inform policy and advocacy. He is affiliated with Youth-Nex: The UVA Center to Promote Effective Youth Development and conducts research relating to the implementation of school mental health services.
Simon completed his undergraduate education in Psychology and Cognitive Science at Rutgers University – New Brunswick. He was closely involved with the Rutgers Social Emotional and Character Development (SECD) Lab, directed by Dr. Maurice Elias, Ph.D., in developing and researching school-based social-emotional learning interventions.
