Josie Bryan is a TYDE Postdoctoral Researcher working under the mentorship of Lora Henderson Smith.
She completed her Ph.D. in Youth Development and Family Science at the University of Florida. She also holds a Master of Public Health from Boise State University and a B.S. in Exercise Science and Health from the University of Idaho. Before pursuing her doctorate, Josie worked in pediatric injury prevention, an experience that sparked her interest in promoting positive youth development and mental health.
Her research focuses on adolescent development, digital media use, and mental health, with a particular interest in understanding how young people experience social connection, mattering, and well-being across online and offline contexts. She is especially interested in using intensive longitudinal data and advanced quantitative methods to examine developmental processes and identify factors that support adolescent thriving.
As a Postdoctoral Research Associate with TYDE, Josie is excited to contribute to interdisciplinary research examining how digital technologies shape youth development and mental health while continuing to build her program of research.
