Seed Funding
TYDE aims to foster a collaborative, interdisciplinary community conducting cutting edge research about both the impact of digital technology on healthy and unhealthy youth development, and its potential to advance intervention and prevention solutions. Projects aligned with this Grand Challenge will advance understanding of the role of digital technologies in healthy development, and the ways that generation and dissemination of digital mental health programs can help address the youth mental health crisis.
Large Grants
Our large grants program is intended for projects with prospects for external funding or which will seed other research activities (e.g., collection of a large secondary dataset that will provide opportunities for multiple researchers to address pressing questions). Priority will be given to proposals that involve collaborations, either across departments/schools or between early career and senior faculty, with the early career faculty being the PI. Senior Professional Research Staff are also eligible to apply for the TYDE seed funds. We expect to fund 2 large grants per cycle. Applicants will submit a letter of intent, and finalists will be asked to write a full proposal (due approximately one month later). PI must be a faculty member. Maximum funding: $100,000 total, up to 2 years. Learn more and apply here.

Our small grants program is aimed at projects that need a small amount of funds to spark the initiation of the project in order to be prepared to submit external grants or to seed other research activities. We expect to fund 2 small grants per cycle. PI must be a faculty member. Senior Professional Research Staff are also eligible to apply for the TYDE seed funds. Maximum funding: $30,000 total, 1 year maximum. Learn more and apply here.

Rapid Response Grants
Proposals in either the small or large grant category can be submitted off-cycle when timing is critical to competitiveness for planned external funding or when there is an opportunity that is time sensitive for pursuing a particular question.
