Curious about teens’ digital lives? There’s a better way than guessing. Ask them directly and let them share their data with you.
On October 25th, 2025, TYDE and CERES collaboratively hosted a free, intensive virtual workshop designed for researchers working at the intersection of digital technology and mental health.
The workshop provided training in many aspects of research involving data donation, including guidance on ethical issues to consider (e.g., IRB, consent, privacy protections & data storage), how to center youth perspectives on datasharing, logistics of data collection, cleaning and analyses, along with issues to consider when working with structurally marginalized communities. We also provided opportunities for University of Virginia & UC Irvine researchers to obtain consulting support after the workshop to help with their data donation projects.
