Carolina Turner is a TYDE Research Assistant.
She is a third-year Psychology major and Data Analytics minor, and has been a member of PACT Lab since Spring 2025.
She’s been interested in the connection between mental health and technology since the COVID-19 pandemic, and is passionate about using research to forge solutions for
youth mental health. Her research interests include social media use and mental health outcomes, particularly among adolescents, and is currently researching the state of phone bans in Virginia schools.
As a recipient of UVA’s Double Hoo award for Summer 2025, Carolina hopes to continue research throughout her undergraduate years and pursue a PhD in Developmental Psychology.
In her free time, Carolina enjoys thrifting, crocheting, reading, and being active. Outside of her research, you can find her debating with the Washington Society and organizing house
shows with WXTJ student radio.
