Dr. Margarita Gladkaya is a TYDE Postdoctoral Research Associate at the McIntire School of Commerce (University of Virginia) under the mentorship of Dr. Brent Kitchens.
She holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in economics from the National Research University – Higher School of Economics in Saint Petersburg, Russia. She earned her doctoral degree at the University of Potsdam, Germany, and remains associated with the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society, “Well-being in the Digital World” research group, in Berlin.
Margarita is a behavioral information systems researcher studying individuals living through the digital transformation of work and social environments. She works primarily with primary data and applies quantitative methods to examine how people interact with digital technology in their personal and professional lives. For example, does social media heighten users’ demands for perfection? What constitutes user control over their own social media use?
