Maddie Mattox is a TYDE Undergraduate Summer Research Fellow.
Maddie is a rising third-year student from Northern Virginia double majoring in Youth & Social Innovation and Religious Studies. She has been a Research Assistant for the REAL Lab since Spring 2024, primarily studying youth curiosity and helping with coding and data collection.
Maddie’s summer (2025) work, facilitated by the TYDE Fellowship, focuses on the impact of Generative Artificial Intelligence on college students in their learning. Specifically, examining the pedagogical implications of GAI on students’ development as learners, writers, and critical thinkers—skills essential for success in a digital age.
