Dr. Maggie Zhang is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the McIntire School of Commerce (University of Virginia) under the Thriving Youth in Digital Environments (TYDE) initiative. She earned her PhD in Communication and Media along with a Master’s in Computer Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She also holds an MPhil from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University.
Dr. Zhang’s research examines artificial intelligence and social media through a sociotechnical systems lens, investigating how information technology impact individuals and society. Her work combines big data analytics with experimental methods to uncover meaningful patterns and causal relationships in digital environments.
